FESCO sees Russia’s container market rising by 15% in 2023
MOSCOW, Oct 20 (PRIME) -- Russia’s container market may grow by about 15% on the year in 2023, Andrei Sverilov, chairman of the board of directors of Far-Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO), told reporters on Friday on the sidelines of the Made in Russia forum.
“We expect that the Russian container market to rise by about 15% in 2023. We will definitely see growth. Growth continues in the Far East and in Russia’s south,” he said.
The company still plans to acquire two foreign-made planes in order to transport its cargoes.
“We are discussing an option of buying two foreign-made planes,” he said, adding that it was also considering the problem of servicing of the aircraft.
Severilov also said that creation of a Russian transport and logistics center in India is necessary for further active improvement of the bilateral trade of the two countries.
“We have already talked about the necessity to build a transport and logistics center on the African continent. Speaking of India, I also think that creation of a transport and logistics center in this country is badly needed. This could provide additional momentum to the development of trade between our countries, and support growth of the trade turnover,” he said.
